A newly formed partnership with Biocote® has resulted in the launch of the SCR’s anti-microbial product line. This Biocote® silver-based additive, which is added to the formulation during manufacture, will guarantee that existing ceilings are protected against bacteria, fungi and mould for the lifetime of the ceiling. Laboratory tests have proven that the SCR antimicrobial ceiling coating will inhibit the growth of bacteria by 99.9%.
Clinical tests within a healthcare environment proved that products which are coated with Biocote® silver-based additive contributed in a reduction in bacteria levels by 94.7% when compared with a similar environment that did not have Biocote coated products.
The SCR coating is now the most effective ceiling product available in the fight against healthcare-associated infections such as MRSA and Legionella and will have knock-on benefits for other Hygienic Industries where clean room conditions have to be maintained.
