SCR Launch Range of Hygienic Wall Coatings

Managing Director, Mark Beighton describes these additions to SCR's product portfolio as "critical components of a unique environmental system that will inhibit the growth of bacteria throughout all hygienic industrial settings" Incorporating silver ion antimicrobial additive technology, the wall coatings can be supplied in any Ral or BS colour in a gloss, emulsion, vinyl egg shell or undercoat.

Due to the inorganic nature of the additive, the antimicrobial properties of silver will be effective 24 hours per day for the lifetime of the coated surface.

The majority of competing wall coatings available today incorporate organic additives that will reduce in efficacy, rendering them no more effective than a standard wall coating within a short period of time.

Laboratory tests on SCR coatings have proven that the addition of silver ion technology contributed to a 99.9% reduction in levels of bacteria (such as MRSA, E-coli and Legionella) making them the ideal choice for clinical areas within hospitals, as well as many other hygienic environments such as food storage and preparation areas, laboratories, schools and office environments where a gathering of personnel can create a perfect breeding ground for bacteria.

SCR has a Nationwide network of skilled decorating teams who's quality service has resulted in the SCR coating system becoming specified on many projects where reductions in the level in bacteria, as well as a modern and fresh clean appearance, has proven to be a key decision making factor.

SCR Ceiling Coating to Keep Clean after Deep Clean

Coated ceiling will inhibit the growth of certain bacteria (including MRSA) by up to 99.9%

This newly launched technology ensures that your coated ceiling will inhibit the growth of certain bacteria (including MRSA) by up to 99.9%, 24 hours a day, for the life of the coated ceiling The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, pledged at the Labour party conference in September that all hospitals in England would be deep-cleaned by the end of March.

He said this would involve cleaning hospitals "a ward at a time", with "walls, ceilings, fittings and ventilation shafts ..".

"disinfected and scrubbed clean".

At least 13 NHS hospitals failed to meet the deadline for a deep clean to tackle superbugs such as MRSA.

Even if your local hospital met its deep clean target date, it may have been a futile exercise if the deep-cleaning programme is not followed up with a regular validated cleaning regime to assist with the ongoing fight against known superbugs such as MRSA.

A hospital ward or department can be recontaminated the moment people are allowed back into the previously cleaned area.

There is one area within the hospital that is almost impossible to clean on a regular basis without causing untold disruption to the ward or department........that being the suspended ceiling, hence the reason why approximately 75% of suspended ceilings have some form of visible discolouration, brought about by water staining, dust settlement and tradesmen's handprints.

SCR's ceiling coatings can be applied to a complete ceiling (SCR Service) or localized from the SO-10 spray can version to cover stains on individual tiles (SCR Safeguard).

All coatings incorporate Biocote antimicrobial Silver Ion Technology.

Not only will existing ceiling tiles be returned to their original "like-new" appearance, the existing grid will also be coated, providing the added security that the complete ceiling is a perpetual defence mechanism against bacterial contamination.

Applied with minimum disruption to the hospital ward, department and/or corridor, SCR coatings save approximately 75% of the costs when compared to replacement ceiling tiles.

In the past month SCR has increased its turnover within the UK hospital market tenfold due to the simplicity of application and the inherent antimicrobial capabilities of the system.

Mark Beighton, Managing Director of SCR comments: "To back up the work being performed under the compulsory Deep Clean Initiative we focussed on developing a product which is easy to apply, will minimise costs and critically, for environments where cross contamination must be avoided, we developed a coating that will assist in inhibiting the growth of bacteria for the lifetime of the coating" SCR are offering a free no obligation ceiling condition survey.

Antimicrobial Suspended Ceiling Coatings Benefits

The Suspended Ceiling Restoration Company laboratory tests prove their range of suspended ceiling coatings will reduce levels of bacteria by up to 99.9%.

Reduced levels of bacteria by up to 99.9% for the lifetime of their suspended ceiling coatings The SCR coatings incorporate Biocote silver- based technology, which has been proven in an environmental pilot study to protect against a broad spectrum of bacteria.

The SCR oil and water based products were tested against Ecoli and MRSA, both products showing a reduction of 99.9%.

SCR ceiling coatings have been chosen by Lorne Stewart (Electrical And Mechanical Facilities Management Company) as their preferred coating for a number of projects at the Royal Liverpool Hospital.
David Stanbury.

Senior Operations Manager of Lorne Stewart comments: "The SCR coatings not only give our ceilings a like new appearance at a fraction of the cost of replacement, we are also provided with the added security that the antibacterial capabilities will inhibit the growth of bacteria for the life of the coating".

"The non-bridging formulation ensures that the ceiling tiles do not stick to the grid after application and the ability to maintain our fire rating and acoustic properties ensures that regulatory compliance is uncompromised".

Mark Beighton, Managing Director of SCR comments: "Many patients will spend over 95% of their time in hospital looking up at the ceiling during their recovery period".

"Whilst surveying a number of healthcare facilities across the UK we were astounded to discover that some 75% of suspended ceilings showed some sign of visible discolouration or staining".

"We focussed on developing a product which is easy to apply, will minimise costs and ,critically for environments where cross contamination must be avoided, we developed a coating that will assist in inhibiting the growth of bacteria".

The SCR ceiling coatings can be supplied in a patented spray-can version (SO-10) which will coat up to 20 tiles for as little as GBP9, in bulk drums for self application or can be applied swiftly by SCR's team of skilled technicians for large areas such as wards or public corridors.

Mr Beighton continues: "The partnership with Biocote has given our customers the added assurance that their existing facilities can be maintained at a higher level of clinical cleanliness than many newly constructed buildings".

"I am proud to be able to support them in their consistent drive to reduce cross-contamination".

"At the same time we are providing huge environmental impact benefits, due to the fact that the existing ceiling tiles are not being added to the waste stream".

80% of all suspended ceilings sub-standard

Suspended Ceiling Restoration Company has developed a range of inexpensive coatings that can be applied to any ceiling surface and associated grids.

Does the state of your suspended ceiling reflect the perception other people have in your Organisation? More than 75% of the public sector and commercial properties visited by the general public are fitted with suspended ceilings of one type or another.

Within a hospital environmental this figure is nearer to 90%.

Of these, some 80% of all suspended ceilings have some visible stains, discolouration or mould evident which can not only affect how your customers, visitors or staff perceives your organisation, but which can be the cause of bacteria and mould build up over time.

Many of these organisations are governed by, and monitored against cleanliness standards but yet they fail to address one of the most common areas of visible contamination.....the suspended ceiling.

Water stains, tradesman's fingerprints, discolouration around air conditioning grills and general ceiling grime are commonplace across many so called "clean" industries.

The suspended ceiling "grime culture" is due in no small way to the costs and specialist nature of replacing suspended ceilings and individual tiles.

Painting an existing ceiling tile can breach fire safety regulations and ruin the acoustic properties of your ceiling.

In many older establishments, asbestos ceilings are present.

Replacing these types of ceilings would constitute a huge drain on financial resources.

That is until now.

The Suspended Ceiling Restoration Company (SCR) has developed a range of inexpensive coatings that can be applied to any ceiling surface and associated grids.

These coatings will restore your ceiling or individual tiles to "better than new" condition, whilst at the same time providing a microbial growth inhibitor (Biocote) that will continue working for the lifetime of the coated ceiling, inhibiting the growth of microbes by up to 99.9%............

24 hours per day! The SCR coatings can be delivered in a spray can version (SCR SO-10 Safeguard), can be applied by our own skilled technicians for larger areas (SCR Service), or can be delivered as a self apply system for those who have their own decorating teams (SCR System).

Once applied, the non-bridging SCR coating will maintain your ceiling fire rating and acoustic properties and will represent a saving of no less than 75% of the cost of replacement ceiling tiles! Where Asbestos ceilings are present, applying SCR coatings will save a minimum 500% against the cost of replacement.

Why not speak to an SCR representative and ensure that your ceiling represents the perception you would like your visitors to have of your orginisation.

Suspended Ceiling with Biocote Antimicrobial

The Suspended Ceiling Restoration Company launches suspended ceiling restoration coating with Biocote antimicrobial technology.

The Suspended Ceiling Restoration Company Limited (SCR) announce its partnership with BioCote to enhance its suspended ceiling restoration coating products with a proven antimicrobial technology This Biocote silver-based additive will guarantee that existing suspended ceilings are protected against bacteria, fungi and mould for the lifetime of the ceiling tile when coated with SCR's range of coatings.

The SCR coating is now the most effective ceiling product available in the fight against healthcare-associated infections such as MRSA and Legionella.

The SCR spray on coating can be applied to a complete ceiling (in bulk liquid form) or on individual ceiling tiles from the patent pending SO-10 spray can version.

This unique coating inhibits the growth of bacteria, reducing the risk of cross contamination in the environment and will be available to all environments where the growth of bacteria is a concern including Healthcare Facilities, Restaurants, Schools, Supermarkets, Laboratories, Clean Production Environments and Public Buildings.

By incorporating the SCR coating technology, suspended ceilings can be restored to "better than new" condition at approximately 30% of the costs associated with the replacement of the existing ceiling tiles.

The alliance with Biocote provides the added assurance that the restored ceiling will have a far greater antimicrobial effect than any new fibre ceiling tile available today.

During the application of the SCR coating, disruption to the area is completely minimized whilst at the same time maintaining the acoustic and fire rating properties of the freshly coated ceilings.

The BioCote additive is incorporated into the SCR ceiling coatings during the manufacturing process.

This inorganic technology is based on silver ions, ensuring that the active ingredients will not leach out of the coating, rub off or degrade over time.

The antimicrobial efficacy will remain for the lifetime of the restored ceiling tiles and supporting metal grid framework.

BioCote has been independently tested and has the ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria on surfaces by up to 99.9% over a 24-hour period, in comparison to unprotected surfaces where they can proliferate at drastic rates.

BioCote antimicrobial agent is effective against a broad spectrum of micro-organisms including MRSA, E-coli, Legionella, Salmonella, Campylobacter and Listeria".

Mr Mark Beighton, Managing Director of SCR comments: "The partnership with BioCote has given our customers an added assurance that their existing facilities can be maintained at a higher level of cleanliness than many newly constructed building.

I am proud to be able to support them in their consistent drive to eliminate cross-contamination, whether that be in a public area or within a production environment.

At the same time we are providing huge environmental impact benefits, due to the fact that the existing tiles are not being added to the waste stream.

A 12 month trial recently performed by the Heart of England Trust, the first of its kind in the UK, showed that an out-patient ward at Heartlands Hospital which contained furniture and equipment with BioCote antimicrobial protection, had 95.8% less bacteria present within the environment than a similar ward which did not have contain BioCote protection.

Complete Suspended Ceiling Restoration 'In a Can'

Suspended Ceiling Restoration Company has launched SO-10, a unique spray-on product which will restore existing suspended ceiling tiles and grids to their original glory.

The Sheffield based Suspended Ceiling Restoration Company has launched a unique spray-on product which will restore existing suspended ceiling tiles and grids to their original glory, removing water marks, nicotine stains and finger prints without compromising the fire rating and acoustic properties of the existing tiles A perfect colour match for most new ceiling tiles, this matt finish formulation has a non-bridging capability which ensures that the treated ceiling tiles do not adhere to the grid when dry.

One single 400ml can of SO-10 will restore up to 30 ceiling tiles, providing huge reductions in financial costs, eliminate labour charges and provide huge environmental impact benefits.

SO-10 is sprayed direct from the can and is dry within 10 minutes, ensuring that no disruption is experienced within the working environment.

Mark Beighton, Managing Director of SCR comments "SO-10 is an exciting product for us, it has major environmental benefits and at GBP11.95 per can it represents terrific value for money for our customers who would have ordinarily experienced severe disruption to their working environments should they have needed to replace their existing stained and discoloured tiles".

SO-10 is becoming very popular with many tradesmen throughout the manufacturing and construction trades.

Alarm installers, lighting system fixers and air conditioning engineers now consider SO-10 an essential component of their tool kits.
