SCR Ceiling Coatings… designed to “Keep Clean”… after the “Deep Clean”
The Suspended Ceiling Restoration Company has developed a range of coatings that are fast becoming specified at hospitals due to the inherent ability to “Keep Clean” after the compulsory “Deep Clean”.
This newly launched technology ensures that your coated ceiling or walls will inhibit the growth of certain bacteria (including MRSA) by up to 99.9%, 24 hours a day, for the life of the coated ceiling or wall.
The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, pledged at the Labour party conference in September that all hospitals in England would be deep-cleaned by the end of March. He said this would involve cleaning hospitals "a ward at a time", with "walls, ceilings, fittings and ventilation shafts … disinfected and scrubbed clean".
At least 13 NHS hospitals failed to meet the deadline for a deep clean to tackle superbugs such as MRSA.
Whether your local hospital met its deep clean target date, it may have been a futile exercise if the deep cleaning programme is not followed up with a regular validated cleaning regime to assist with the ongoing fight against known superbugs such as MRSA. A hospital ward or department can be recontaminated the moment people are allowed back into the previously cleaned area.
There is one area within the hospital that is almost impossible to clean on a regular basis without causing untold disruption to the ward or department……..that being the suspended ceiling, hence the reason why approximately 75% of suspended ceilings have some form of visible discolouration, brought about by water staining, dust settlement and tradesmen’s handprints.
SCR’s ceiling coatings can be applied to a complete ceiling (SCR Service) or localized from the SO-10 spray can version to cover stains on individual tiles (SCR Safeguard). All ceiling coatings incorporate Biocote® antimicrobial Silver Ion Technology.
Not only will existing ceiling tiles be returned to their original “like-new” appearance, the existing grid will also be coated, providing the added security that the complete ceiling is a perpetual defence mechanism against bacterial contamination.
Applied with minimum disruption to the hospital ward, department and/or corridor, SCR coatings save approximately 75% of the costs when compared to replacement ceiling tiles.
